After the monsoon in March has cleared up the sea, bringing out the crystal water and the Whale Season between June and August, when the humpback and southern right whales migrate to the warmer waters of Mozambique’s coast for calving.

Full Tour Itinerary

Day 0: Johanesburg (pre-night)

Today will be your chance to meet your fellow travelers and get ready for the Safari ahead!
On the evening of your pre-night, the group will be met by your guide for the tour and get a detailed briefing about the day to day operations of the trip.
Meals today will be at your own expense.

Day 1: Johanesburg - Kruger National Park

Day 1 kicks off with an early start as we leave the big city behind and head for the bush! We will drive north-east into the Lowveld and to the world-famous Kruger National Park – here, we will be staying within the park for our first two nights of tour, enjoying multiple game drives in search of some of South Africa’s wildlife.

Day 2: Kruger National Park

We will spend our full day in the Kruger exploring the southern part of the park on a morning and evening game drive. Rising with the sun, we climb back into our custom made overland safari vehicle and head for our first lengthy morning game drive.
We will arrive at our lodge in time for lunch, before heading off on yet another game drive.

Day 3: Kruger National Park – Tofo Beach

Off to an early start as we take the short drive to the Mozambique border. Once we have entered Mozambique, we head north for 450 kms. Mozambique has a beautiful, tropical vegetation, with more and more coconut trees the further north we go! We will arrive in the paradise of Tofo in the late afternoon with time to relax, have a stroll on the beach and get into the holiday mood!

Day 4 & 5: Tofo Beach

Thanks to its sheltered waters, white sands, easy access and fine diving, Tofo has long been legendary on the southern Africa holiday circuit. With one of the country’s largest whale shark populations, incredible scuba diving, colourful markets, fresh seafood and bustling centre, there is never a dull moment in Tofo.
We will have two full days here to kick back, relax and enjoy this beach paradise in style, including a two hour ocean safari, in search of dolphins, whales, manta rays and whale sharks!

Day 6: Tofo Beach - Guinjata Bay

From one beach paradise to the next, today we take the short drive further south to Guinjata Bay, where we will spend the following three nights.
Guinjata Bay is a smaller, quieter bay. We will be based at our private beach villa, with spectacular sea views overlooking stretches of white sandy beaches as far as the eyes can see. Enjoy your time tanning on the beach or at our private plunge pool on the deck of our villa… now this is living!
En-route, we will stop off in Inhambane town for some resupplies at the market, before continuing 40 kms to Guinjata. We will arrive in time for lunch.

Day 7 & 8: Guinjata Bay

Days 7 & 8 will be enjoyed at your leisure – scuba diving, fishing, exploring and enjoying some deliciously fresh seafood! In addition to that, we will experience one more ocean safari, in search of the illusive whale sharks as well as snorkelling in one of the tropical rock pools.

Day 9: Guinjata Bay - Maputo

After 6 incredible days enjoying Mozambique’s tropical beaches, we head back down south to the capital city of Maputo. With its Mediterranean-style architecture, waterside setting and wide avenues lined with jacaranda and flame trees, Maputo is a very attractive capital city – however, quite run-down.
We will spend one night here en-route to Swaziland.

Day 10: Maputo – Royal Hlane National Park (Swaziland)

Leaving the coast behind, today we head into one of southern Africa’s cultural heartlands – the Kingdom of Swaziland.
A short drive from Maputo, we will enter Swaziland in the late morning and continue 40km down to Royal Hlane National Park. This park belongs to the elite of Swaziland’s wildlife parks, and it’s easy to see why – most famous for its waterhole at camp, often active with rhinos, elephants and plenty more! Here, you are able to see all of safari’s big A-listers, with the exception of buffalo. This evening, we will embark a game drive and on return to camp, enjoy a traditional dance performance, to get a bit of insight into the strong Swazi culture.
Tonight, we will fall asleep to the sounds of the large lion population roaring into the night.

Day 11: Royal Hlane National Park – Johannesburg
